The IHSCDEA Legislative Action
Committee keeps a guarded eye on legislation & waivers that could
potentially lead to significant changes in our discipline.
There is a movement
among several schools
in the general areas
of Rockford &
Waukegan that are
trying to contract
behind the wheel and
in some cases
classroom to
commercial driving
schools.
The Legislative
Action Committee has
been active with the
teachers and the ISBE
to alleviate this
practice.
If you believe that
there are compliance
issues within a
district or your
district is moving in
the direction of
eliminating driver
education feel free
to let us know about
it. We have a

legislative session than we have seen in past years.
