During the spring of 2002 an Aggressive
Driving Project was developed by the Illinois Secretary of
State, The Illinois State Board of Education and the members of
the Illinois High School & College Driver Education
Association.
The unit of instruction contains a video tape
and manual with instructions for presentation. Each Illinois
high school was mailed a packet with all this information
This unit contains the most up to date information currently
available on this growing problem. Your presentation will vary
depending upon the time available and your program constraints.
This document contains all the written masters
needed for an aggressive driving unit of instruction.
- PowerPoint is used to present while
students take notes on the sheets provided.
- If PowerPoint is not available, make
transparencies of the slide masters.
- An accompanying video, quiz, & answer
sheets complete the package.
- Use the quiz in a pre and post quiz format
in order to assess comprehension.
- As statistics & research become available
adjust the masters to suit.
A special thank you goes to four Illinois
high school driver education instructors for their time and
expertise in writing and compiling materials for this
curriculum. These individuals are: Paul Cram, Scott Cumming,
John Papa, and C. E. Welch. Their efforts in driver education
and traffic safety are applauded. |
